Online advisors

Being a grandparent can bring its problems – and we are here to help.

Our fully trained online advisors have years of experience and are based at the national charity, the Grandparents' Association. They are here to give free confidential information and advice on a range of issues that concern grandparents. You have a choice in the ways you can get in touch with our online advisors:

Telephone: 0845 434 6835

You can talk by telephone to our advisors who are available from Monday to Friday 10.00am – 16.00pm. However you can call outside these hours leaving a message and we will contact you. Telephone conversations with our online advisors are confidential.

Talk one-to-one online

This one-to-one facility means you can talk to an advisor online by typing in the 'chat box' and an advisor will type back to you in real time. If all our advisors are busy, you can still type your query in the 'chat box' and an advisor will respond to you, as soon as they become available.

To begin just press the button below and you will be asked for a user name which can be your real name or a pseudonym. Type a name and press enter. An online advisor will respond, and you can start to type your query.

The chats are private and no one else can see your conversation. If you are unsure how we guard your privacy, read our privacy policy.

Groups: peer group support

Not everyone needs an expert advisor for help or support with a question and quite often you can get an answer from someone who already has the knowledge or experience that relates to your enquiry. This type of sharing of information can also help others find answers to queries or problems.

If you would like to use this facility – visit our Groups page to start up a thread or to browse the groups and conversation threads to see if an answer already exists!

Groups are places for public discussion of a query or for information you wish to share; your comments are therefore available for all to see.
